About me
Born and raised in York, I moved to London in 1992 and was lucky enough to begin my career in a thriving, exciting media industry. Working for what became the largest national commercial radio station, my remit was to manage all on-air and off-air promotions, interviews, roadshows and live on-air programming ensuring that everything went smoothly. As you can imagine, ‘dead-air’ or silence on radio is not an option and this taught me how to problem solve and how to find solutions.
I lived abroad from 1996 for the next 20 years in India, Singapore, Paris, Melbourne, Johannesburg, Chamonix, France before returning back to England and found a small piece of heaven in the Sussex countryside.
I love a challenge and bought a 300 year old barn in Les Bois, one of the oldest villages in the Chamonix valley, and began a large scale renovation to create a five bedroom chalet. After this, the renovation bug had taken hold and I undertook an assignment to provide the design and project management on the neighbouring farm. Both properties have since been featured in interior design magazines and used as locations for film & TV as well as photo shoots.
Many projects later, I have extensive knowledge and experience to bring to clients. My remit may be to retain the integrity of the property, be it an alpine chalet, a Sussex cottage, a homestead in the Midlands of South Africa or to create something from new.
It’s about working closely with my clients to establish the desired look and feel, explore the constraints and find possibilities inherent in the property and to suggest options which add to the existing structures.
Working from my garden studio in the beautiful Sussex countryside, my travels to India, South Africa, Morocco, Italy and France feed my soul and ensure a steady stream of inspiration. As do long walks with my dog Maddie.
For part of the year she and I relocate to Kalk Bay, Cape Town to check in on my projects in South Africa.
